Anthony makes artworks which explore the language of form through clay studies from life/nature which then provide the basis for more abstracted artworks in a range of media. Different materials lend themselves to working in particular ways and to varying scales. Also the changes of state involved in production contribute creatively to what is made. The aim is to get to the essence of a subject, conveying a sense of movement and “aliveness” rather than a static representation. This is often inspired by existing stories, myths and folklore – seeking new expressions of timeless themes.
